                 PHOTO ETHNOGRAPHY
Definition.
Photo Ethnography is the art and representation of a culture through visual artwork

Brief History on Ethnography.
Ethnography is the study of living cultures, and ethnographic research is the methodology and results of studying ethnography. Traditionally, ethnographers study nonindustrial cultures in the Americas, Africa, Asia and other continents, but today they are increasingly interested in modern post-industrial society.

Introduction.
Photo ethnography was first used in the mid-1800 as a way to document anthropological work, it slowly found its way into all aspects of modern day life. It is used by newspapers, magazines, television shows, books, and many more media sources.

History
Photo Ethnography began being used to document war during the United States Civil War. Sadly, that was also the same time that photographers learned that you can rearrange a scene to make it into anything the artist wants it to be. The ability to manipulate photographs is the before mentioned example is precisely the reason why photo ethnography is not a very reliable documented source of information.
Since its creation, photography and photo ethnography has advanced in its abilities and abundance. In today’s society, anyone can have a camera. They’re cheap and easily acceptable and all that needs to be done is for someone to press a button. Photo ethnography has even been used in classrooms for children to demonstrate their heritage.

MY IDEOLOGY
Photo ethnography has become a staple in today’s society. It can be found everywhere. From media to the classroom, it has continuously shown that cultures are something that needs to be understood and appreciated by all people. No matter how old or young you are, your story matters. Photography is a great way to express who you are.
